Job Description
Resurrection-St. Paul School has an opening for a full-time, ten-month, Special Educator for the 2021-2022 school year. The Special Educator will be responsible for working with small groups of students to provide additional support in all academic areas, concentrated in reading and math, aligned with the Archdiocesan Curriculum. This position also provides direct resource support to teachers.
Resurrection-St. Paul School, located in Ellicott City, Maryland provides a Catholic education through excellent academic and extracurricular programs that promote leadership, achievement, and service within the church and community. We are a STEM accredited school through Cognia and offer a 1:1 Chromebook program for Grades 1-8.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides research-based interventions, accommodations, and modifications to curriculum for identified students
- Drafts Student Accommodation Plans based on neuropsychological evaluation or medical reports
- Provides small group instruction to identified children, assesses and documents all instructional programs
- Collaborates with other members of the academic team in planning and implementing the instructional program
- Serves on the Learning Resource Team along with the principal, assistant principal, school counselor, math specialist, and reading resource specialists
- Implements all components of the AOB Inclusion Manual
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education with concentration in Special Education
- Master’s Degree in Special Education (Preferred)
- Hold a current MSDE Certificate
- Has a minimum of five years classroom teaching experience
- Leadership experience preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication, time management and interpersonal skills
