Job Description

Archbishop Borders School, the only Dual Language School in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, has an opening for a teacher to be responsible for teaching Early Childhood Spanish Immersion classes to PK3.  The teacher will be responsible for all subject areas except for specials (PE and Music).  The teacher will collaborate with other disciplines to promote cross-curricular activities.  This position requires excellent communication and collaboration skills, as it involves co-planning of lessons and curricula.  This position requires an excellent understanding of the early childhood years, and a commitment to the development of self-regulation, a focus on emotional learning, and play-based learning.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility for PK3 classroom
  • Conduct all play based instruction in Spanish
  • Responsible for teaching children of all ability levels and differentiating the curriculum for all learners through centers-based instruction
  • Willing to incorporate social-emotional best practices into instruction
  • Maintain a neat and orderly classroom
  • Participate in days of prayer and reflection
  • Presence at all faculty meetings
  • Responsible for rotational duties such as lunch and playground
  • Responsible for continuing education to maintain teacher certification and Equip for Ministry certification
  • Moderate an extra-curricular activity, or participate in educational enrichment after school

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in elementary or early childhood education
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Proficient with technology (especially Google Suite), multimedia equipment, i.e. interactive white boards, LCD projector and document camera
