Job Description

St. Louis School in Clarksville, Howard County, seeks qualified candidates to serve as a Middle School Science teacher beginning in August 2021. The Teacher will work in concert with department partner teachers to plan and execute lessons, including coordinating with other disciplines to promote cross-curricular activities. This in-person teaching opportunity will include a middle school homeroom.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide grade-appropriate instructional program for students in accordance with established curriculum including experiments conducted in fully equipped science laboratory
  • Teacher is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate program for students that complies with all mandated state and archdiocesan policies and procedures
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a variety of student learning styles and needs.
  • Develop varied assessments that measure student achievement.
  • Maintain student grades and records, teacher website.
  • Provide grade-appropriate extended or enrichment opportunities.
  • Participate in faculty, curriculum and team meetings, school committees and professional development as needed.
  • Perform assigned duties supervising students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan, implement and evaluate instructional program.
  • Maintain an attractive, organized, and engaging learning environment.
  • Attend school events, such as Back to School Night and Open House, as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred
  • Maryland State Teacher's Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Practicing Catholic preferred
  • Knowledge of grade level content
  • Proficiency with technology, multi-media equipment such as interactive white boards, LCD projector, Apple TV and document camera, and managing a one-to-one Chromebook program
