Job Description
Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, located in Essex-Middle River, MD, has an opening for a Middle School Math Teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. The ideal candidate must hold a current Maryland State Teaching Certificate, or be eligible for certification. Experience working with middle and high school students would be desirable for this in-person teaching opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Implement lesson plans utilizing a variety of techniques to motivate, challenge and engage students
- Plan and execute an instructional program that upholds the values and ideals of the Catholic Church and the mission of Our Lady of Mount Carmel School.
- Create an instructional environment conducive to learning that is appealing and organized.
- Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic and timely manner.
- Safely and actively supervise students both inside and outside of the classroom
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration to plan, implement and evaluate instructional program.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Math
- MSDE teacher certification in Mathematics (6-12)
- Knowledge of curriculum, and principles and practices of pedagogy
- Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Proficiency in the use of instructional materials and technology, in particular G Suite for Education
- Employment is contingent upon acceptable results of a state and federal background check, completion of VIRTUS Training, and completion of all necessary paperwork.
