Job Description

School of the Incarnation, located in Gambrills, Maryland is seeking highly qualified candidates for a Middle School Math position.  The candidate must hold a current Maryland State Teaching Certificate. Knowledge of common core curriculum in Math standards and experience with middle school students is preferred.  The ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students is imperative.  The teacher should be knowledgeable regarding technology integration in lessons.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides grade appropriate instructional program for students that adheres to the school’s philosophy, goals and objectives
  • Maintains an attractive, organized, and engaging learning environment
  • Develops lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocesan Course of Study
  • Provides grade appropriate extended or enrichment opportunities
  • Maintains accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development
  • Provides regular and consistent communication with parents, students, staff and administration
  • Willingness to participate in professional workshops in early childhood education
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding students, their families and other employees outside the school
  • Performs assigned duties when needed for the supervision of students before, during or after school including lunch duties, recess duties, dismissal duties, detention and any other duties assigned by the administration
  • Participates in faculty meetings, school committees, and in-service learning opportunities
  • Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teaching of the Catholic Church
  • Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times, and for classroom management using PBIS (positive behavior intervention and support) protocols
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration
  • Attends school events including Back to School Nights, Open Houses, Parent/Teacher conference days, and other events as requested by the administration

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Math and/or Secondary Education
  • MSDE certification with an endorsement in Mathematics
  • Successful experience in student teaching or classroom teaching
  • Positive references and recommendations
  • Basic understanding and acceptance of Catholic school philosophy, goals and objectives, practicing Catholic preferred.
  • Must be proficient in using a variety of technology during daily lessons as well as to enrich and differentiate instruction
