Job Description

St. Joseph School Fullerton, located in Perry Hall, Maryland is seeking highly qualified candidates to teach 5th Grade for the 2019-2020 school year. The candidate would be responsible for all curriculum instruction for grade 5. The abillity to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students is imperative. The teacher also should be knowledgeable regarding technology integration in lessons.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides grade appropriate instructional program for students that adheres to the school's philosophy, goals and objectives
  • Maintains an attractive, organized, and engaging learning environment
  • Develop lesson plans with clear ojectives in line with the Archdiocese of Baltimore and State of Maryland Standards
  • Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress and development
  • Provides regular and consistent communication with parents, students, staff and administration
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding students, their families and other employees outside the school
  • Perform assigned duties when needed for the supervision of students before, during or after school
  • Participates in faculty meetings, school committees, and in-service learning opportunities
  • Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teaching of the Catholic Church
  • Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times, and for classroom management using PBIS (positive behavior intervention and support) protocols
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration
  • Attend school events including Back to School Nights, Open House, Parent/Teacher conference days, and other events as requested by the administration

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree and current MSDE certification
  • Successful experience in student teaching or classroom teaching
  • Positive references and recommendations
  • Basic understanding and acceptance of Catholic school philosophy, goals and objectives
  • Must be proficient in using a variety of technology during daily lessons as well as to enrich and differentiate instruction
