Teacher, Grade 3 in Clarksville, MD at The Archdiocese of Baltimore

St. Louis School in Clarksville, Howard County, seeks qualified candidates to serve as a Grade 3 Teacher beginning in August 2121. The teacher is responsible for teaching all core subjects. The Teacher will work in concert with a grade-level partner teacher to plan and execute lessons, including coordinating with other disciplines to promote cross-curricular activities. This is an in-person teaching opportunity.

Job Responsibilities:

• Teacher is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate program for students that complies with all mandated state and archdiocesan policies and procedures.
• Plan and implement engaging developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with the Archdiocese of Baltimore Course of Study and state mandated programs.
• Observe and assess student progress, recording such progress and sharing with parents as required by school policy.
• Value all students as individual learners and work to differentiate instruction to support identified needs.
• Maintain an attractive, organized, engaging learning environment.
• Develop procedures for inside and outside the classroom.
• Maintain familiarity with all emergency procedures and protocol.
• Supervise children at all times.
• Communicate in a clear and professional manner. Written communication is grammatically correct and error free.
• Keep detailed records observing student’s behavior and progress; teachers share this information effectively with parents and colleagues.
• Communicate with parents frequently regarding the student experience, identifying early concerns and providing resources.
• Attend all faculty meetings and school events, including weekly team planning.
• Attend all professional development days and workshops.
• Incorporate the school’s mission of excellence in Catholic education into every aspect of daily activities.
