Job Description

Our Lady of Hope/St. Luke School located in Dundalk, has an opening for a middle school English Language Arts teacher to begin in August 2021 . The teacher will be responsible for all assigned classed. The Teacher would need to be comfortable with technology (Distance Learning, SmartBoards, teacher websites, electronic gradebook, etc.) as well as teaching using an iPad.  If you are a recent graduate or will graduate in May, please apply.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement lesson plans, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge and engage students.
  • Plans and implements instructional programs that adhere to system wide (AoB) and school goals and priorities
  • Creates an instructional environment that conducive to learning
  • Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic and timely manner
  • Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students both in and outside of the classroom
  • Establish reasonable standards for student achievement
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff and administration
  • Integrate iPad and SmartBoard technology effectively into a 21st Century classroom
  • Monitors and evaluates student outcomes in a timely manner
  • Meets the needs, interests and abilities of students
  • Maintains expertise with provided technology


Job Requirements

• Bachelor degree in education or English
• Current MSDE certification with endorsements in Middle School
• Successful experience in student teaching or classroom teaching
• Clear ability to promote and witness to our Roman Catholic Faith
• Basic understanding and acceptance of Catholic school philosophy, goals and objectives.
