Special Education Teacher in Catonsville, MD at The Archdiocese of Baltimore

St. Agnes Catholic School, located in Catonsville, MD seeks a Special  Education Teacher. The SPE teacher will  help develop, implement, and grow the resource program to assist students with diagnosed learning differences who have documented accommodations; and to monitor the needs and future course of action for those with suspected learning difficulties. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Work with students, teachers, and staff to create strategies that promote academic success for students at St. Agnes School
• Provide coaching support, intervention, and strategies for teachers/students as needed
• Conduct and oversee effective tutoring of identified students through small groups, one-on-one intervention, and/or push-in support services
• Administer assessments and evaluate student data that will help teachers/staff in the identification of students who would benefit from intervention
• Oversee, monitor, and determine the materials that will be used in the resource program
• Work with the Principal and the Student Advocacy Team to coordinate school support services and resources to students with documented learning differences
• Lead the process of writing accommodations plans.
• Act as a liaison between parents and teachers in making sure accommodations are implemented with fidelity
• Establish positive relationships between students, teachers, the counselor, the school nurse, parents and principal and counselors to ensure a collaborative effort toward student achievement
• Evaluate and provide academic support, professional development, and training to staff as needed
• Conference with teachers and review documentation to maintain accountability for record keeping of monitoring student progress
• Coordinate standardized testing schedule and makeup testing for students with accommodations.
