Job Description

Mother Seton Academy, located in Baltimore, Maryland, is seeking candidates for a Religion Teacher / Campus minister.  This is a full time position with the following hours, Daily: 7:30 am - 4:30 pm three days each week and 7:30 am - 5:00 pm two days each week.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate prayer services and retreat experiences for the students and school community
  • Teach religion classes
  • Attend other required school events beyond the school day, such as parent-teacher conferences, staff retreat days, extended study hall and extra help sessions, and applicant Saturday School in March
  • Take advantage of professional development opportunities
  • Attend and contribute to grade level team, faculty, and department meetings
  • Complete hall, cafeteria, monitored homework, after-school, field trip, and other duties as assigned
  • Communicate regularly with parents of students and advisees
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the school Principal

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in theology or religious education; master's preferred
  • Practicing Catholic
  • Commitment to Catholic education and to Mother Seton Academy school mission
  • Proven ability to implement differentiated instruction techniques
  • Successful experience working with urban population is preferred, but not required

Candidates will be contacted by Dr. Gregory Sucre, Principal, for an initial interview.  A second interview is then held with the President, Sister Margaret Jeskelis, SSND.  Successful candidates must pass a criminal background check.
