Job Description

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School, located in Northeast Baltimore City, Maryland seeks candidates for the position of Principal to begin July 1, 2021. The Principal will  implement the educational ministry of the school ensuring its Catholic identity. St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School offers the curriculum of the Archdiocese of Baltimore implemented within the framework of the high standards called for by the International Baccalaureate mission. After a three year long planning process St. Francis was the first non-public school to be authorized to offer the IB program in Middle School.

The Principal is ultimately responsible for overseeing an instructional plan that is consistent with the mission, philosophy, goals and objectives of the school. Through our commitment to Catholic values and academic excellence, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School strives to educate and empower individuals who will have the faith, knowledge, and competence to be the leaders of tomorrow. The Principal reports to the Pastor and the Superintendent of Catholic Schools.

Job Requirements

  • Practicing Catholic with a demonstrated commitment to the mission of Catholic education.

  • MSDE Admin II certification.

  • Prior experience working with or as part of the International Baaculaurate Program.

  • A minimum of five years teaching experience at the elementary level.

  • Three years of elementary (K-8) teaching experience in a Catholic School.

  • Prior experience as an Assistant Principal/Principal preferred.
