Instructional Assistant in Clarksville, MD at The Archdiocese of Baltimore

St. Louis Catholic School located in Clarksville, Maryland, is seeking an Instructional Assistant to begin on campus in August 2021. This position is responsible for assisting the teacher in supporting delivery of lessons, small group reinforcement, and other aspects of classroom preparation and organization. The candidate would work under the direction of the classroom teachers, assisting students as directed. Knowledge of classroom technology and learning strategies is an asset. This is a full-time, in-person, opening following the school calendar.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work under the direction of the classroom teachers to plan and implement instruction in concert with the school’s mission and vision
• Participate in the active supervision of students at all times, and supporting classroom management using school-wide positive behavior intervention and support (PBIS) standards
• Plan and organize optional classroom or outdoor activities as needed
• Work collaboratively with other teachers, assistants, staff and administration
• Flexibility regarding job requirements and willingness to assist as needed
• Assist students with remedial and re-teaching activities
• Lead instructional small groups independently
• Creatively implementing different learning strategies in large and small group settings
• Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic and timely manner
• Maintain high professional and personal standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teachings of the Catholic Church
