Job Description

St. Ursula School is a large Catholic school in Baltimore County with over 600 students. The Finance Director will oversee the budget, debits, and credits, as well as payroll. The individual will serve as a member of the school leadership team working directly with the School Principal and represent the school in dealings with the School Board, and the Archdiocese of Baltimore Fiscal office. 

Job Duties include:

  • General accounting duties including payroll, A/R, A/P, monthly financial statements and reconciliations, budgeting, monthly and year-end closing. Communicates with the Principal, School Board, Finance Committee, and Archdiocese of Baltimore.
  • Works closely with parent volunteers and teachers on school fundraisers and other school events such as field trip planning, professional development, and supply ordering.
  • Software used include Excel, Ultipro for payroll and QuickBooks Online for accounting duties.
  • Some H/R duties including salary scales, and benefits.
  • Private school specific tasks include Title II, E-rate, and monthly special milk price reporting.
  • Must be comfortable working independently and multi-tasking.

Job Requirements

  • CPA license preferred
  • Knowledge of Excel spreadsheet
  • Flexibility regarding Finance Committee meetings
  • Prior experience in a school setting preferred
