Job Description

St. Joseph Parish, located in Fullerton, Maryland, is seeking candidates for a Facilities Manager.  The Facilities Manager is responsible for the supervision of the members of the Facilities team.  It is expected that the Facilities Manager will work with the parish Facilities Committee when necessary as well as parishioners when requested by the Pastor.  The management position requires the necessary managerial skills that will ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of our parish facilities and grounds through the diligent work not only of the Facilities team, but the Facilities Manager as well.  This position requires a working manager, one who engages in the daily tasks of maintaining the church, parish grounds, cemetery grounds, and school buildings.  The Facilities Manager must be able to perform routine maintenance and repairs including carpentry, electrical and plumbing tasks, along with contracting the vendors for major repairs and maintenance projects as well as operate parish equipment.  The Facilities Manager is responsible for supervising the members of the Facilities team and is expected to provide a weekly summary of day-to-day tasks that have been performed by the Facilities team.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Previous maintenance experience is required
  • General mechanical aptitude is required
  • Ability to lift sixty pounds independently is required
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and operate large equipment for extended periods of time is required
  • Expected to both perform the duties of the entire Facilities team as well as manage the team
  • Must have good communication skills and be able to collaborate with other staff members, parish volunteers, community groups in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Must be able to model Christian attitudes and behaviors and follow the Archdiocesan Code of Conduct.
