Job Description

Archbishop Borders School, the only Dual Language School in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, has an opening for a Dual Language Program Director. The director will lead the development of the dual language program, coach teachers instructionally, offer workshops to parents on how to support their students academically, plan assessment strategies, and interact with all stakeholders of Archbishop Borders School. This person must be bilingual and biliterate in Spanish, must be comfortable analyzing educational data, and must be a team player. This person reports directly to the principal.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Research and keep up-to-date regarding current research on bilingual education
  • Provide one-on-one and small group coaching to dual language teachers
  • Help dual language teachers align Spanish and English curriculum
  • Help principal run data meetings with dual language teachers
  • Conduct observations and provide feedback of dual language teachers
  • Provide support for dual language program parents
  • Serve as liaison between Archbishop Borders School and the Two-Way Immersion Network of Schools of the Roche Center at Boston College.
  • Run professional development sessions for teachers
  • Run Dual Language Team Meetings
  • Create, with the teachers, the annual Dual Language Showcase
  • Other duties as assigned by the principal

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Bilingual Education or related field
  • current MSDE certification
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Proficient with technology (especially Google Suite), multimedia equipment, i,e. interactive white boards, LCD projector and document camera.
