Job Description

The Administrative Assistant performs secretarial and administrative duties for the Office of Divine Worship, the Office of Respect Life, and other offices as assigned.  He or she also provides assistance for the Department of Evangelization as requested by the Executive Director.

The administrative assistant has the following responsibilities:

  • Correspondence, including paper and electronic correspondence
  • Providing expert support with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Providing expert desk-top publishing support, including liturgical worship aids
  • Creating/adding/editing/posting content on website and social media
  • Processing paperwork for financial transactions
  • Scheduling meetings and managing supervisor’s calendar
  • Proofreading for spelling, grammar, accuracy and neatness
  • Assist with on-site registration for specific archdiocesan liturgies and/or formation events at the discretion of the Director 




Job Requirements

Education & Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent      

An Associate and Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred

At least 5 years of experience in related area

Familiarity with the Catholic Church, Catholic liturgy and liturgical music preferred

Proven expertise with Microsoft Office and desktop publishing software (Publisher or InDesign)


Other Desired Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High proficiency with digital media use such as websites, social media, mobile apps
  • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish preferred
