Job Description

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented and high-spirited person to fill the role of Administrative Assistant in the Department of Evangelization. In this capacity, you will support various offices within the department, including the Division of Youth, Young Adult, and College Campus Ministry.

Some of your responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Responding to internal and external telephone calls, inquiries and visitors
  • Event planning, including registration, client relations, fluency with online platforms
  • Initiating or responding to correspondence and memoranda 
  • May serve as administrative liaison internally and outside the organization regarding issues affecting departmental activities
  • Assisting with on-site registration for specific archdiocesan liturgies and/or formation events at the discretion of the Director
  • Processing paperwork for financial transactions and related budgetary matters
  • Calendaring and coordinating, scheduling, and setting up for meetings, webinars, presentations, etc. 
  • Creating/adding/editing/posting content on website and social media utilizing design software such as Canva, InDesign, Fatpaint, or IStudio Publisher

 

Job Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess the following characteristics: 

  • Be a high school graduate at a minimum, with some college preferred 
  • Have at least 3-5 years of previous administrative experience
  • Proven expertise with Microsoft Office and graphic design tools (candidates will be tested)
  • Have a knowledge and familiarity with the mission of the Catholic Church and its structure

Other Desired Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High proficiency with digital media use such as websites, social media, mobile apps
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative for projects and programs
  • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish
  • Occasional attendance at weekend or evening meetings may be required
