Job Description

The Pastorate of St. Augustine, Williamsport, St. James Boonsboro, and St. Joseph Hagerstown seeks a part-time Administrative Assistant for pastorate operations.  The work location is on Virginia Avenue in Hagerstown.  The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to approx. 12:45 p.m.; and approximately two evening per month (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.). 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Interface with outside vendors for building maintenance projects
  • Order supplies
  • Organizing multiple groups of parish volunteers
  • Maintain schedules and calendars
  • Assist with parish communications, e.g., updating pastorate social media platforms and website
  • Serve as backup editor for the bulletin
  • Rare necessity for weekend hours

Job Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to function as part of a parish team
  • Knowledge of the Catholic Church and its mission strongly preferred
  • Minimum 2 years as an Administrative Assistant is a professional environment strongly preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus, but not required for this position
