Job Description

St. Joseph School Fullerton, located in Perry Hall, Maryland is seeking highly qualified candidates to teach Middle School Language Arts for the 2019-2020 school year.  The candidate would be responsible for all curriculum instruction for grades 6-8. The ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students is imperative. The teacher also should be knowledgeable regarding technology integration in lessons.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide grade appropriate instructional program for students that adheres to the school's philosophy, goals and objectives
  • Maintains an attractive, organized, and engaging learning environment
  • Develop lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocese of Baltimore and State of MD Standards
  • Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress and development
  • Provides regular and consistent communication with parents, students, staff and administration
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding students, their families and other employees outside the school
  • Perform assigned duties when needed for the supervision of students before, during or after school
  • Participates in faculty meetings, school committees, and in-service learning opportunities
  • Maintain high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teaching of the Catholic Church
  • Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students at all times, and for classroom management using PBIS (positive behavior intervention and support) protocols
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration
  • Attend school events including Back to School Nights, Open Houses, Parent/Teacher conference days, and other events as requested by the administration







Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree and current MSDE certification
  • Successful experience in student teaching or classroom teaching
  • Positive references and recommendations
  • Basic understanding and acceptance of Catholic school philosophy, goals and objectives
  • Must be proficient in using a variety of technology during daily lessons as well as to enrich and differentiate instruction
