Job Description

Holy Family Catholic Church, located in Randallstown, MD, is seeking candidates for a part-time Rectory Cook.  The cook will prepare and serve the evening meal at the rectory Monday through Friday.  The ideal candidate will be able to provide meals that meet dietary requirements of the residents.  Menu preparation and procurement of the items needed are part of the position.  This is a part-time position, 15 hours per week.  Monday - Friday 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.  This position is available immediately.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create a 4 week menu plan.  Incorporate specific dietary needs and instructions.  This menu plan is approved by the Pastor.
  • Procure the items needed to prepare the meal plus any other household items as needed
  • Collaborate with the Pastor and other household residents to prepare an evening meal to be served at 5 pm on Monday - Friday for 2 people.  There are times when more meals are served.
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate food inventories.  Rotate stock as needed.
  • Adhere to safe food handling procedures.  Certified Food Manager training is a plus.
  • Ensure that the kitchen is cleaned and sanitized at the end of each meal.

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience as a Cook
  • Able to read and follow standardized recipes
  • Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
  • ServeSafe Certification preferred
  • Able to work as part of a team with the Pastor, residents and staff
  • Must have own transportation to purchase food
