The Archdiocese of Baltimore is seeking a Project Manager, Real Estate for its real estate portfolio. In this role, you will be leading all facets of project management, including the daily administration, purchase and/or alienation of all real property assets owned by or controlled by the Archbishop, the parish corporations and/or the Department of Catholic Schools.

Some of your essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Advising and assisting senior leadership with all real property owned, leased or controlled by the Archdiocese
  • Liaising with parishes and schools regarding purchase of new properties, the disposition of existing surplus property, or the leasing and re-purposing of underutilized buildings all in compliance with federal, state, and local laws as well as established policies and procedures
  • Coordinating with Archdiocesan legal advisers to provide appropriate guidance and documentation for successful real estate transactions and negotiations
  • Negotiating with brokers, developers, design professionals, vendors and contractors to facilitate progress of ongoing contract transactions and/or negotiations on a timely basis
  • Providing lease administration services between the Archdiocese Department of Management Services and parishes to include rent collection and rent payment allocation, lease renewals, certificates of insurance and on-going maintenance issues with tenants
  • Preparing RFP's and brochures for in-house disposition of surplus properties. Distributing RFP's to appropriately interested parties. Holding open houses to show properties.

Job Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS in Design /BEng/BArch) from an accredited college or university in a technical area of study
  • 7-10 years of responsible experience in commercial real estate development, commercial construction, property management and/or facilities management
  • Previous experience preferred in leading and managing real estate project teams for a wide variety of projects
  • Must have a demonstrable competency in principles and applications of architectural design and knowledge of building codes and standards; knowledge of ADA and other compliance issues is essential 
  • Experience with complex and sophisticated project management in all facets of capital construction, real estate development and project financing
  • Must be able to analyze, comprehend, interpret and prepare complex legal documents, spreadsheets, business and financial plans
  • Proficiency in financial analysis to prepare strategic plans and supporting business justifications for senior and executive leadership
  • Must be able to understand business goals and requirements and translate into functional, fiscally responsible real estate solutions
  • Knowledge of sustainable building practices, including alternative energy sources and green building
