Job Description

The Immaculate Conception School, an established parish school firmly rooted in the Catholic faith and a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence (2014) located in Towson, Maryland seeks a dynamic transformational leader as Principal.

Embracing a community of children with many and varied gifts, and through the active collaboration among the faculty, parents and other professionals, Immaculate Conception challenges and supports a diversity of learning styles and needs. Named a STREAM school of the Archdiocese, and a National Blue Ribbon School in 2014; The Immaculate has a rich tradition of excellence in math,science,technology,religion and the arts. The Immaculate Conception School nurtures the spiritual, intellectual, physical, social and emotional wholeness of its students.

The Principal oversees the total educational program of the school and is directly responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school. The Principal assures that programs that deal with the Catholic identity of the school are planned, implemented and evaluated in consultation with the Pastor and the Superintendent of Catholic Schools. The Principal is ultimately responsible for overseeing that instruction is consistent with the mission, philosophy, goals and objectives of the school. The Principal directly reports to the Pastor.


The school serves 536 students in Grade Pre-K 3 – Grade 8


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements for consideration are:

  • Practicing Catholic, fully able to model Christian values, adhere to the teachings of the church, and actively participate in the sacramental life of the Church.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and vision to create and inspire the school community in the creation of a unique school in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission of Catholic education while ensuring its Catholic identity.
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in educational administration, supervision, curriculum development, or education.
  • Minimum of five years teaching experience at the appropriate level K-8 and three years of administration experience in a Catholic school.
  • Maryland certification as a Principal (ADMIN II).
  • Catechist certification and/or ongoing faith formation.
