The Catholic Hispanic and Latino populations in the Archdiocese of Baltimore are thriving and rapidly growing.To support that growth, we are currently seeking candidates for the role of Coordinator, Missionary Discipleship (Bilingual). With a focus on parishes in Hispanic/Latino communities, you will assist people who serve in parishes and schools in the formation of disciples of Jesus Christ. Working with a diverse team of archdiocesan leaders, you will create evangelization and catechetical processes that transform the hearts and minds of adults, children and families. 

Some of your duties will include:

  • Researching, developing, promoting, and and facilitating effective intercultural formation in missionary discipleship such as digital content workshops, and retreats, as well as other  formation opportunities.
  • Working with the young adult Latino community in identifying their unique formation needs and offering solutions to meet those needs
  • Accompanying parish catechetical leaders in implementing a culturally-integrated vision of evangelization
  • Providing theological and pastoral formation to catechetical leaders.
  • Ensuring the development, implementation, promotion, and facilitation of ongoing education and formation for lay ecclesial ministers, with special attention to those of diverse cultural heritage
  • Offering bilingual (English and Spanish) resources to parishes

Job Requirements

To be considered 'best qualified' for this role, you should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Must be a practicing Catholic able to fully participate in the sacraments of the Church
  • Must be proficiently bilingual- fluent in English and Spanish (read, write and speak)
  • Master Degree in Theology, Master Degree in Evangelization, or Master Degree in Catechetics or related degree i.e. Master in Religious Education, Master in Church Ministry, or currently enrolled in one of the above programs of study.
  • Possess at least 2 prior years of parish experience.  Experience in a Catholic school or other church agency is helpful but it does not replace parish experience.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Experience and ability in program and event planning and implementation preferred
  • Ability to take initiative and work effectively with a team
